PS3 Chatting online using Resistance?

Need help!
Connected my headset with my PS3 (have bluetooth and USB)
I only have 1 PS3 game, and every time I go online to play Resistance 2 I find that I cannot hear anyone chat.

Tried holding down 'right' / 'down' / 'L3' to activate chat but still got nothing out my headset.

With the voice changer thing in the PS3 settings my headset works fine. Just can't seem to chat online =S Help please?

chat sucks on resistance 2
most people give up on it and just disconnect their headset because having to push to talk is annoying
it should work like killzone or COD
