PS3 can read everything but PS3 games.. why?

Today I dropped my ps3 onto the hardwood floor from about 2ft high.. and it kind of dented the corner and cracked the front a bit.

And now it cannot read PS3 games..
but i tried putting in DVDs and PS2 games, and it reads them fine.

why can it read all disc EXCEPT ps3 games??

and if i send it into sony without warranty how much will this be to fix?
