PS2 saves to PS3

So any word yet on how I'm going to get my PS2 saves off my PS2 HD to put on my PS3?

Can you transfer from the ps2 HD to a ps2 memory card? That might work.

I think you could if the files were smaller than 8 megs.

Yeah I can. Do you know if I'll be able to put the PS2 saves on the PS3 HD? Say I transfer my saves to the PS2 memory card, will I have to keep them on the card and have that hooked up all the time? Or will I be able to put those files on the PS3 HD? I hope so, I don't want to have to keep booting up the PS2 just to keep transferring saves between the HD and the memory card.

if you get the PS2\PS1 memory card adaptor for ps3, you can save those memory cards onto the hard drive as a sort of memory card image

I've never seen one in person, but you may be able to buy one of those external usb hd cases and hook it up to the ps3. It should be able to read the ps2 save games.

I dont think ps2 will recognize a usb flash drive.

The memory card adapter for PS3 is only $14.99, that is probably the easiest way to go.

That's the plan. I was just wondering if I would be able to put those saves onto the PS3 HD or have to have more than one memory card to fit all my PS2 saves on. According the the link from metalfan111, they can go on the HD.
