PS2 "Disc Read Error"?

Okay, So I have had this PS2 since 2000, (when they first came out) It is a fatty. (SCPH-35001) Now, I have never had a problem with this PS2. I don't use it for online play or anything. Just regular playing. I just received Guitar Hero World Tour in the mail today and I went to play it and my PS2 had a "disc read error" I have tried blowing in the vents to get dust out & trying in domestic mode but still it doesn't work. The odd thing is though, my PS2 will read the dual layer rock band disc but not GH:WT disc. Any ideas on how to fix this? Also, does the slimline silver PS2 read dual layer discs?

your lens might be braking down. try getting a xbox 360, but if you want to stick with the ps2, get the slim one. and i think it can read dual layer discs. i havent tried it yet, but i think it can.

Well from what I've heard, if the PS2 really does have a disc reading error, it's very hard to fix, even if you pay a professional. So, I suggest you either buy a new PS2 or buy another console of your choice.

That PS is now very old. I would advice you to buy a new PS or you may try the X-Box 360. Disc read errors are very costly to repair.
