PS2 dance mat on Wii?

I currently own two PS2 to Gamecube adapters. When I use with with a Ps2 controller and Super Smash Bros Brawl, Brawl, accepts it as a gamecube controller. I believe they make PS2 dance mats that are solid, unlike the one that comes with DDR: Hottest Party. If I were to get some of them, could I use them with Hottest Party using the adapter?
If it doesn't work, can someone give me an explanation of why it wouldn't work, when other games pick up a regular PS2 controller as a Gamecube controller, and Hottest Party works with Gamecube mats?
 
I dont think it would work sorry hope this helps. You can only use mats that work with the wii not gamecube
