Protest + ant= Protestant
Yes, I like you people more cuz you fought against Catholics

If you think about it denominations are man made rules and traditions that people choose to follow. Jesus said follow me. Christian really in it's simplest term means follower of christ. Are we not all Christians? Some call them selves Baptists, catholics, Methodist, etc...Just follow the laws that the Bible clearly states and we will all be doing pretty good.

My favorite thing to do is read everything written in red and do what it says.

Everything else is just gravy.

Gravy is awesome but I like the meat :)

I am a Christian who is not Protestant nor Catholic. My heritage is Christ and my earthly connection is Restoration not Reformation.

Not really, it try not to use it often because I don't want to encourage "partisanship" within the church. However, I can't say: "we all have the same word to follow", because I heard they added books to the bible or something. :(

Not really. I never thought about it like that. I just know that there are valid reasons to why we exist today. Besides, "Protestant" is just a word to describe a Christian not of a Catholic or Eastern (Orthodox) church.

if you understand how root words and affixes affect the english language, it makes perfect sense.

Protestants protested the medieval Catholic Church's doctrine. That doesn't seem "weird" to me.
