i am looking to buy a jeep. jeep wrangler in particular. i need to know mainly from jeep owners, the ups and downs about jeeps, ive heard that their very reliable, but also heard otherwise. i know many jeep owners love their jeeps, if your that person, please reply

I have been a mechanic for many years, as well as a jeep owner all my life. The jeeps are great vehicles for all around driving as well as going 4x4ing. There has been very little recalls on them. (compared to most Chrysler vehicles) I have owned jeep CJ's. I have owned Cherokees. I even own a liberty. The only draw back with most Jeeps is the poor gas mileage. As far as being reliable. They are one of the best compared to other vehicles in there market. I hope this helps.

I've owned two jeeps in my life, and i got rid of my last to buy a truck and i never got the chance to get another. I miss it every spring/summer, or when it snows...

I have a Jeep, and I do like it. When I have the money, I will buy a new Jeep.
Pros:
They are reliable, small enough to get around most places, but big enough to haul/tow stuff, they are fun to go 4-wheeling in, there are different models depending on what you want, and I personally like the way they look.
Cons:
They have a small gas tank, so it seems like you have to fill up more frequently, the wranglers with soft tops are noisy, and when it's windy, the wranglers are harder to control.

Overall, Jeeps are very dependable, nice vehicles.

Jeep's are great cars. I don't have any personal experience with the Wrangler's, but my family has owned Cherokee's before. They are overall very reliable. Their first one, which was an 88, got to over 200K miles before they traded it in, and their current one, a 1999, is pushing close to 175K now, and still going.
