Proof that Jerry Jones needs to hire a GM to advise him with the Cowboys?

Did you realize that Dallas is one of 3 teams who do not have a GM to make football decisions. (Bengals & Raiders)
I got to looking at a few things and discovered that since Jerry has taken full control of the personnel decisions (just before Jimmy left) and found some really interesting facts.

1. Since Troy retired, we have had the following list of starters at QB (several hand picked by Jerry): Quincy Carter, Anthony Wright, Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner, Chad Hutchinson, Vinnie Testaverde, Drew Hinson, Drew Bledsoe, Brad Johnson, and Tony Romo.
Other than Romo, how many of these had or would have been successful at the time with any other team?

2. Jerry has hired the following head coaches: Jimmy Johnson (cannot argue with that one), Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Bill Parcells, and Wade Phillips.
Once Jimmy was gone, how many of these guys went on to be a winning or even a head coach anywhere else? Bill did a good job, but he would have been much better as the GM than the coach.

Looking at that, are the coaching and the QB (we have had some good draft picks on defense) not 2 of the biggest keys to a team being able to win and advance in the playoffs?
