Programming a dishnetwork remote with my stereo.?

I Have a Philips/Magnivox 3cd stereo. I no longet have its remote but I do have my Dish Network universal remote. However I can't figure out how to program it to work with my stereo. I just want the volume to work. I know it has something to do with AUX but none of the codes they have listed for AUX amplifiers seem to work.
