procedure for selling your car...title and plates?

i am selling my car and i am not sure as to how this goes.. i live in florida. when they pay me i sign the title over to them and then what? do they keep my plate or do i take it off and tell them they need to get their own??? is there any way that they can take the car home today when they come look at it? thanks a lot
 
you keep the plates once you sign the title that is all you have to do. but i always check after the waiting period to make sure they did register it. it has to be notarized
