Hi, i have an N reg ford escort, has been running very well but recently the battery is draining through the night, so much that the only way to get it to work in the morning is too disconnect the battery completely so that the charge is not being drained, also there is a funny sound coming from the back that is like wind coming through or even a dull type of continuous sound, and im positive something fell off the car today, the revs went right down and the car nearly stalled. Does anyone have any advice please.
Thanks
Mike
Im thinking its the alternator, my mechanic friend says it could possibly be the alternator and i believe if the solanoid is goosed it will earth the battery thus draining it, if i lave it disconnected then it works later on, the engine sometimes judders when its idling, as if its gonna stall but it doesnt. Could this be the engine management and will it cost a lot to replace?
Thanks
Mike
