problems with vlc media player?

when i try to watch a movie/series on vlc media player, it sometimes skips a small part (for example it jumps ahead 2 seconds without showing the a part) and it is also a bit slow at times (ie another character in the movie/series would be talking but it is still the previous character that is being displayed on my screen hence the flow of d movie is disrupted).does any have this same problem and if so how do i fix it?

i just downloaded the new vlc media player n thought it would solve the issue but no luck

Check your computer for viruses (Avast) and for malware (Malwarebytes antimalware. VLC has always worked fine for me.
If you are on a slow connection (DialUp) no video program will work smoothly
