i need some advice. i'm 15 and i shave my legs but this leaves red dots all over my skin. the tops of my legs are a problem too because i shaved them once so now i do a combination of waxing and shaving them. my arms were too hairy because i shaved them too so i've started waxing them, which was easy the first time but it's getting more difficult to remove the hairs now. also, i've started growing hair on my chest, stomach and lower back.
this is really annoying and i have tried Veet hair removal cream but it smelled bad and didn't work.
what should i do? dont judge me plz, serious answers
thanks

The problem with shaving as it chops off the hair at skin level and encourages growth - I'm sorry but once you start shaving that's it - so please, please think carefully before you shave anywhere else babe. You should talk to your mum/big sister or an older (female) relative etc and ask them to take you to a professional beauty salon for waxing (you need parental consent if you are under 16) as over time this helps reduce the thickness/coarsness of the hair. The red dots are razor burn and this can be soothed using cucumber or aloe vera gel - alternatively use a flannel run under really cold water and apply it to the area. Again waxing may cause a slight reaction, especially the first few times but in the long run I feel it would be better for you. I hope you get the help you need with this problem, don't worry everyone has body hair and it's perfectly natural babe xxxxxxxx

I think that you need to try and stop shaving your arms, it won't make the hairs thicker or anything like that but when it gets stubbly I'm guessing that's quite embarrassing.

I think that if you have excessive body hair then you should go to the doctor, especially if it's effecting your self esteem. The only option i can think best for you is laser hair removal, it is very expensive and only lasts for a few months but if it effects you mentally the NHS will probably pay for it (if you live in the UK)

The problem is probably no where near as bad as you think it is, the way i think of things that nobody gets to look as closely at your body as you think. You're probably within the norm because i know i have a slightly hairy back and chest.

As for your legs you need to buy some shaving cream for sensitive skin and when you shave make sure you shave in the direction of the hair, this will prevent ingrown hairs and the red dots. You might have to press a little harder to get the hairs off though, but it will be much better for your legs.

anyway hope this helps, don't let it get you down =]

What about Electrolysis?
It is also a hormones thing. Also, (not saying you are) but overweight women tend to have this problem. Again, its hormone related.
Ask your doctor what he would recomend?

go and see a doctor... its a hormone disorder...u should test ur blood. coz hair in chest and back is not normal... so go see a doctor.. some treatment might help u.

Not sure whether this will work for you as I don't have the same issue, but I hate body hair on me so what I do is use an epilator. Not sure whether thats the correct spelling. Basically Peach it pulls the hair out from the roots, you don't get stubble and you only have to use it every other week. It's sore the first time you do it, but after that the hair grows back really fine so you don't feel it. Hope this does the trick.
