can someone help me? i rebuilt the engine in my dodge Dakota pickup truck. it had a blown head gasket 239000 miles on it. so i pulled it out and tore it down and found that the bottom end was in great shape. all parts went back Standard. i had the head reworked and shaved. put it all back together and have been driving it all week 100 miles round trip to and from work. Friday i noticed a lot of black soot on the body where the tail pipe comes out. and when i rev it up it blows black smoke out and soot onto the ground. and also i am seeing blue smoke when you rev up. (do not see any smoke when driving only at idle.) also the oil turned black in a less than 350 miles of driving. the motor still runs great and idles good. can someone tell me what could cause these problems. this is the 5th engine i have rebuilt and never had a problem like this.
