Problems with my Ford Ka?

I have two problems with my 1999 Ford Ka, First off theres a knocking kind of noise coming from within the dash when the revs are low, most noticeable doing 50mph in 5th gear. Sometimes it sounds like loose change ratteling in the ash tray (Its not). Second problem is there is a hell of a lot of squeaking coming from the front right paert of the car. Had a look underneath and cant see anything hanging off so im guessing its not a cat stuck in the wheels. Maybe suspension? What can i do to fix these problems (i have very little mechanical knowledge) or is it best to put it into a garage?
 
I would get a garage to have a look. No professional mechanic will feel able to give a definitive answer from the description given. Sorry.
