Beyond the Limits

I have tried to meditate a couple of times, but it never really works. I always wake up earlier in the morning since this is the only time of the day I have to meditate. However, I am always very hungry whenever I wake up so I can't focus. I was thinking that I could probably eat a snack and start getting ready for the day (example:get dressed, etc.). Then I could probably meditate at the very end before going to school. The only problem is that by that time I would have eaten already and people recommend to eat after meditating since digestion can alter this process ...... so what could I possibly do??? Another problem is that I CAN'T keep my back straight. I know that I don't have to be in the lotus position but I still don't know how to keep my body balanced. Any suggestions??
