I have a 97 mazda protege that I've been driving for a couple of weeks. It doesn't have that many miles on it (120,000) and it's in good shape overall but it has problems taking gas sometimes. Whenever this happens I have to let off the gas pedal and try it again until it does. It doesn't happen at high rpm's. Any idea what could be causing it?
Sorry for not being clear. Whenever I hit the gas pedal sometimes the rpms will go down and it will not accelerate and I'll have to let off the gas. Me and my dad have put on a new mass air flow sensor and just swapped out throttle sensors today but it still has the problem. The check engine light has been going on and off since I got it. Advance checked it for me before we put the throttle sensor on and it's code came up and I had them check it after and it's code was no longer there but a manufacturer's code was and it's the only one the computer is reading that's wrong now.

im not sure what you mean by taking gas. you mean the car hesitates when you hit the gas pedal? that may be a dirty/bad mass air flow sensor or bad throttle position sensor. has the engine light come on? if so have an auto parts store check the codes for you. could even be bad plugs or wires perhaps.
