2 days in a row my moms 97 ford taurus has died on her on the way home from work almost in the same spot. She was driving along fine and all of a sudden her lights started dimming and then everything failed and left her stranded at about 10:30 at night. My dad dont think its the alternator, because he just had it changed last year, but he is going have it tested anyway. One thing we find funny is right before it died the ABS light would flash. The first night when it happened my dad found a 12 amp fuse that was burnt that powered the alternator, changed it and ran the car for a good 30-40 miles with no troubles. Mom gets in and goes to work 5 miles away and it leaves her stranded. I dont want any smart butt answers. I want honest answers of what it could be. Any help would be appreciated.
