I have a nikon d40 that i love, great photos, great speed. heres my problem: sometimes when i am taking photos indoors, with my regular kit lens, i see a shot i'd like, and press the shutter button and nothing happens. Can't take a photo. (not on burst mode - usually in auto mode for kids or portraits). that occurs for multiple attempts, and then all of a sudden, no problem, photos taken. no change in lighting, positioning, angle. yeah, i assume some small change in light just due to my subjects movement (kids), but nothing major. and this isn't a problem focusing, i am autofocused without any problem. Why does this happen, what do i do to stop it? I bought an SLR for the ability to snap tons of photos to catch my kids ... this seems to be happening more and more .... someone said it may have something to do with my battery, but this was on a freshly charged battery.
