Problems copy and pasting with google chrome on macbook?

I cant copy and paste links into chat on other websites or paste a link into an email. Its very annoying!! I can copy and paste links no problem on safari but I prefer google chrome aside from this very annoying copy and pasting problem!! Anyone got a solution for me? Thanks
