Problems chatting with MSN/hotmail account users via blackberry?

I have several friends who use hotmail, some of them I have ALWAYS been able to chat with via Yahoo! and some I have not. All of a sudden, one of my "long time contacts" who I have been able to chat with I can no longer chat with...and I don't understand why!! I know these machines enjoy tormenting me no end, but I've tried everything I can...HELP ME!!! I miss my Chat Peeps!!!! Thanks...
