Problem with TT and SD card

Just recently found this forum, I hope this is the place to play "20 questions"?

The problem I am having is that recently, items on my storage card are copying themselves onto the unit itself. If I delete the item from the unit, I lose the data on the item on the SD card also (saved games, saved text, etc). The item itself is still on the card but stored info is not.... Is there something I can do about this?

Most programs on the SD card have to be copied into RAM to run. Things like high score files are always saved in RAM. A well behaved program should delete the program only data from RAM when you exit but many don't. The best way to handle this is with a program like FileZ, which you can get from www.freewarepalm.com . This program allows to delete files selectively from RAM or the SD card. You can use this to delete the program file from RAM while preserving the saved files.

Thanks for the reply Jim.

I dont think I asked the question the right way let me try again.....

I loaded village sim onto my SD card and not the palm itself. I played it for a few days and now village sim is ALSO on the palm itself. two copies. one on the SD card and one on the palm. I did NOT put one on the palm itself. it copied from the card to the palm without me telling it to. other yhings have copied over also.

I have filez and use it to delete things i dont need anymore. when i deleted village sim from the palm itself, the current game on the card got wiped and i had to start over again....

Other apps/games have copied themselves also....
