My dilemma is that i replaced my starter on my evo 1340. it was throwing out pinion gear and meshing w ring gear but making whining noise and not turning motor at all> I replaced w starter from 96 softail w only 6000 miles on it.It was supposedly bench tested by dealership and i was told it was fine. I put it on the bike and and it is doing the exact same thing> wouldnt it be highly unlikely that both starters were bad?? any input would be greatly appreciated> I have the primary cover off and can see it throw out and mesh from start button or pushbutton on side..i need to have it running for a charity evnt this wknd so thanks in advance for any replies
