So I bought a previously owned laptop from a friend for $250 on Friday and on Tuesday it stopped working all of a sudden...now the guy doesn't want to give me my money back even tho my friend promised me my money back if I had any problems...what happened was that I was going to turn the laptop on to do my hw and all of a sudden it turned off so I believed the battery was dead so I plugged the charger an hour later I turned it on the fan was working BUT the screen was blank it didn't want to turn on...the guy is blaming me for the problem and wants me to get it fixed n that's the only way I can get my money back...I'm mad Bc he's supposedly a Tech and has fixed a bunch of pc but this one he can't do himself! So my question is has anybody else had this problem with a Vaio? What advice can u give me for this situation?

I haven't seen this with a Vaio, but I've seen this happen with Toshiba Satellites. Unplug the computer and take the battery out. With it unplugged, and battery out, hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. Put the battery in and plug in the charger. It should boot up. If just the fans are spinning, but there are no lights, and the hard drive doesn't sound like it's spinning, then the motherboard is shot, and you're better off just buying a new laptop. Something tells me that if your friend was really a tech, he would help you fix it. If you can get it to simply turn on and do something on screen, then demand your money back.
