Problem with Phillips media converter for MP4 player!?

I have a problem when I try to add videos to my Phillips MP4 player with a program that comes with it called "Phillips SA32xx Media Converter", I have a ton of MPEG-4 type videos I want to add but when I press convert/transfer it gets this little red triangle under the status thing and it says """"Error: Please install the latest codec and the latest Microsoft DirectX(T)"""" Translation please!!!! I'd really appreciate some help =)
