Problem with my LG TU550 mobile phone...?

I just broke my Nokia N95, and now I have to use my Dad's old phone, LG TU550... the thing is, whenever I put my 1GB memory card in from my N95, it says "card not ready"... I thought maybe that the limit was 512Mb (because that's what my dad had when he had the phone), so i tried that one and it still says "card not ready"...

what can i do...?

i'm waiting to get the E72, when it comes out, thats why I'm stuck with this :(
