I drive a 97 jeep wrangler 5 speed manual transmission. The past couple days anytime i shift into neutral or push down on the clutch the engine roars and my RPM goes anywhere from 3-4k. I've also noticed that it will maintain speed without me accelerating as long as I'm in a gear, leading me to believe its accelerating on its own. I also tested this theory again by letting off the clutch while in first gear without accelerating and rather than stalling like it should have, my jeep actually started moving forward on its own. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?
