I recently had a power steering leak and the fluid leaked into my alternator (which I bought re-manufactured with no warranty less than a year ago) causing it to fail. I pulled the alternator and replaced the brushes which were covered in power steering fluid. Had it tested and it's still bad. My question is...what other internal parts could I try cleaning or replacing to get this thing to work? I can't afford to buy a new one and can't find a used one anywhere near me. Also, this alternator is on a 1988 Toyota Van Wagon. Thank You!!!
