I own a brand new 2008 Honda Accord LX and for some reason, my keyfob requires minimum 10-15 button clicks in order to lock or unlock the car. I am not sure if its a problem with the circuitry board inside the keyfob or the batteries. I really doubt its the batteries as its a new car and was only bought 5 months ago. I originally got 3 keys (2 fobs and 1 valet key) with the car from which the second fob is working perfectly fine. Thus, there's nothing wrong with the car itself.

Sometimes, a hard push on the button gets the keyfob to work and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Do you think my Honda dealer where I bought the car from will repair this problem under warranty?

Please advice me. Thank you.

It is almost certainly the battery. Battery life has alot to do with when the battery was made. You are thinking in terms of when you bought the car as the day of first use but the battery could have been made a year or longer before it was installed in your remote thus reducing the life. A good dealer would change it out for you but I doubt that it is covered under your warranty. It shouldn't be more than ten bucks at the worst.

Replace your battery first, then if you don't see any results, take your key fob apart, and check your circuit board for any loose wires. I would check all, but I would assume that the problem would be a wire that is connected to the battery and runs to the circuit board. If they are loose, then get yourself a soldering Iron, some solder, and re-solder them to your circuit board.

Hope I was somewhat helpful.
