This is my first post, so I'm not sure if it goes here.
This is a problem I have been having daily for the past 2 years. It began as a hard firmness in both calves one night, which lasted about 20 minutes, and within the week tuned into an extreme "ache" in my legs, which stayed the same in any position and happened constantly, all day. After a few months, it progressed to when I stand up still, or walk slowly, within about 5 minutes, my legs, from the kneecaps up to my mid thigh, will pressurize outward and turn red (vascular congestion)to the point where I MUST sit down. I can walk fast though, with minimal redness, but no more slow or still over 5 minutes or so. Sitting doesn't cause as much redness either. Recently I have noticed that when I stand longer than a couple of minutes, as my legs go red, my hands also get very red and feel and look full of blood. Most of the pressure and redness start diminishing as soon as I get off my feet.
One doc I saw says fibromyalgia. Another doc says chronic veinous insufficiency. I have had ultrasounds which show no DVT or clots, but some leakage. I wear compression hose, as instructed, during all waking hours, but they only give me a few extra minutes up on my feet. Has anyone out there experienced this? I'm at my wits end. I want to be able to stand up again. All standing related things, from showering, to chores and cooking are limited to 5 minute increments.
I was also tested for the autoimmune diseases and all came back ok. My thyroid levels were tested and the only bad number was the peroxidase antibodies but the other numbers were all within limits.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
