problem with ford mustang 2002 battery indicator needle on instrument panel goes

down when at idle? my battery indicator needle goes down on my instument panel ford 2002 mustang . all other gauges oil pressure rpms ect are normal . also my panel light that iluminates the air conditioner light heater panel goes off sometimes stays off mainly when i drive with instrument panel lights on at night . can someone please advise me of the resolution to these 2 problems
