Problem with a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am stalling?

Try replacing the filters before you get crazy with it. Do the air filter and fuel filter first, they don't cost much. If that doesn't help have a mechanic test the fuel pressure coming from the pump.

Another part that might cause your problem is the fuel pressure regulator. Going straight to the fuel pump without checking for other issues is a common mistake that people make when they're just guessing what the problem is. It's an expensive job and doesn't always fix the car.

I know one mechanic that will replace the fuel pump AND the filter when the issue was just a clogged filter. It's a way to get more income from an uninformed customer.

I was pulling out a parking lot, I pressed on the gas to make car go and it was pulling back, kept stalling, finally I reached a light and the car just stopped, try to turn it on and it ignited but kept shutting off, the battery was replaced about 2 months ago, I did have the security light turn on a few times but it would disappear, this is the first time this has happend, any suggestions of what it could be.
