I have an 03 Dodge Neon SXT and for some reason when I accelerate to 50mph and over I can hear a high pitch whistling/whining noise that seems to come from the engine or front area of the car. I was told it could be one of the wheels or something, but I don't want to go to a shop and get ripped off for stuff I don't need to do to the car. I know it could be "a lot" of things, trust me I'm not an idiot, but if someone could kindly point me in some direction that would be great. Also if anyone knows where the thermostat is on this specific car, can you let me know because I need to change it and I have the part. I just don't know where the blasted thing is.
