okay before this happened my car was driving fun until...one day i stopped at arco to get some gas but while i was pulling up i stalled. I was like oh no big deal so i filled my tank up and when i got back into my car it wouldnt start. it sounds like its going to start but just doesnt start. my friend stopped by to help and it would only start with starter fluid but as its driving it seems like its choking and then it will just die on me and wont start back up again unless i do the starter fluid method. anyone know the problem? please help as much as you can i would reallly appreciate it. i dont know much about cars.

I'd check the fuel pressure, the problem you described could be a bad fuel pump. If you think about it, it sounds like its starved for fuel, only starts with added fuel (starting fluid) the choking sounds more like lack of fuel pressure. It's a quick check if you can borrow a fuel pressure gauge or a quick stop at a shop and they can check it in less then five minuets.

Fuel problem, check your filter, pump, etc. Sounds like you got one heck of a clog, or your pump is on its very last legs.

I had this problem with my Mustang, it would start when you spray gas down the throttle body but would die immediately after because of no gas coming through. My problem was a dead fuel pump.

Since you are able to drive yours, it sounds like yours is at least working a little, but definitely get it checked out.

Good Luck!
