I have a 1993 chevy 1500 pickup truck and recenty it has started actibgg up. What it is doing is occasionally when I go to start it, it dozen't turn over and all I hear is the started spinning. I then let it sit for a few seconds and try it again and it usually starts fine. What is causing this? Thanks

i would check my ignition module as well as my rotor cap and rotor could be something as simple as that so dont freak out and go buy everything start small and work up hope this helps good luck

You have several things going on at one time. First off, your starter drive is worn, which was caused by a worn spot on the ring gear. A gas engine always stops in one of four spots, one spot more that the rest. when you remove the starter, roll the ring gear over by hand, and you will have to file BETWEEN the teeth, and remove excess off the top, so it is smooth. As I said, there will be four spots which will need this. If they are really worn, you will have to replace the ring gear. When you repair or replace the starter drive, make sure to get a heavy duty 5 roller drive, NOT made in India, they are junk. Good Luck.
