PROBLEM: Customer Service Circle of BS...anyone one from cricket HELP!

I have been a Cricket customer for over 10 years,
and have always stood up for them when people talked trash.

Not so sure anymore,
A little more than a month ago I bought the Huawei Ascend.
Sold my flashed Blackberry couple days later (should have never done this).

Last night the screen started acting up, very slow, touch screen started not working.
I rebooted the phone.
After the Android screen, came the Cricket screen, then the Cricket screen, over and over....phone will not reboot.

Took it back to the store.
They told me I would have to go to the home office to get the phone replaced.
I explained that I do not drive, and I will take the hit to the wallet because I have insurance on the phone.
They said I could pay $80 something dollars for a new phone,
but again, I had to go to the home office.

Another $150 (full Price) for a new phone was the only option given to me.
I decided no.

Tried calling 1800cricket,
I get sent to an operator in who knows what 3rd world country.
Asked for contact information to get the warranty taken care of through the manufacturer.
They told me they did not have none,
and that I should return the phone to the store I bought it at?
At this point I end this phone conversation, useless.

Next I try calling the "Home Office"....
I get an answering machine (3 PM in the afternoon, and no one can answer?)

I just want the phone replaced.
How in the world does a person get in touch with ANYBODY at Cricket that is not just a hired hand that deflects any problems onto another hired hand?

All warranty replacement issues are handled by corporate stores ONLY. There's no other way around it. Generally that only costs $45 and $35 will be credited to your acct once manufacturer confirms the defect.

Insurance will cost you $85 and you can handle that over the phone by calling the Signal at 866-217-5787 or www.thesignal.com.

To me it's a no brainer...catch a cab to a corporate store. It will save you $75 minus cab price as long as the phone isn't fried thanks to physical/water damage.

Not, that I don't think you've tried this but have you tried a factory reset? I don't "Nor have I ever" have a cricket branded phone, I'm using a flashed Hero. But I've had that same problem and usually a factory reset/clear data solves the problem. It happens so frequent on my test ROM I do a titanium back up nightly.

I Bought and tried to return the phone at a corporate Cricket store.
Home office for a replacement seems the only way.

I would love to do a factory reset, I am not sure how considering I can not access any functions,
including the call function.
Any suggestions?

I just want a new phone so I can sell it and get some of my money back.
When Cricket would not help with the situation,
I went over to T Mobile,
The Optimus T is a ten times better phone than the Ascend,
Much faster, less glitches, screen never freezes up, I get each text message once (instead of 6 times on cricket), and it runs 2.2 :)

You got to understand the Cricket is pretty much a D.I.Y company. Don't expect much support in either front. You're pretty much alone when getting hardware. The only thing you can rely on is Insurance and the 30 mins. return back policy ... PS: Why don't you just have insurance mail you a replacement. You do not req. to drive.
