I live in Arizona and am 22 years old. I went on probation in June 2008 for a fairly serious drug offense. Over the weekend i was arrested and charged with trespassing (class 3 misdemeanor) . This is the first time I have violated probation. I pleaded not guilty but am very concerned how this will turn out. I'm guessing it is totally up to my probation officer on what he wants to do.

No it's up to the judge. The probation officer will issue a report about you and how you were proceeding up until the violation. The judge will then determine whether or not some jail time is needed to convince you that you need to toe the mark. If you were doing well before the violation and the circumstances of the current offense are not of a serious nature, then I think you will get off with an extension of probation, restitution to the govt. for the cost of your arrest and prosecution and that may include the cost of any incarceration. Further violation of the terms of your probation will undoubtedly involve jail time anywhere from 6 months to the full term of the prior convictions. Good luck to you.
