helo Iv had acne for about 7-8 years and my face is not getting better. I have used philosophy, murad, neutragena, aspirin mask, and the derm. gave me bactrim, benzaclin, and differn to use. and nothing helped. my face is also full of scars that seem to never go away. I really dont see anyone that uses/used proactive before. anyone have experience with it? from the sounRAB of it it works extremely well. thanks for your input - chris

I did an internet search of the question 'Did Proactive work' and I didn't find but maybe one person that it helped ...so I'm not sure about all those TV aRAB. Did you also try prescription Retin-A? Now that is a great product when all else fails.

Some people swear by it, for others, it makes their acne worse. You could at least try it and see if it helps.

As for Retin-A, you could also try that, but I know for me, it made my skin HORRIBLE :(

Bear in mind, Pro Activ is a celebrity endorsed product, and a Benzyl Peroxide product. These two factors make the product expensive and unhealthy for your skin. The product is also sold on a automatic contract, i tend to stay away from a product such as Pro Activ.

I understand there is a generic version of Pro Activ that is not under the same marketing as Pro Activ, and the results are similar if not better than results seen for the original Pro Activ product.

You have described an acne condition very similar to my condition. The best treatment i have found is Acnexus, which is a natural exfoliating product with very good results that can reduce acne in a very short amount of time of around 3 days.

Many of the acne treatments you have tryed are external treatments. I have found internal treatments more effective. Drinking water helps the complexion as does skin support vitamins, in particular a Zinc suppliment, probably something your not likely to hear from a Derm. Although internal treatments tend to take a longer time to take effect, a corabination of internal and external treatments is highly reccomended.

Hey Chris.. Im a young 21 year old female that has been using ProActive for a little over 3 years now. I get a few break outs still but not nearly as bad as i use to. I tried everything from dermatoligists, doctors, and beyond. I just was talking to an estitician and she told me not to use ProActive anymore becuase it puts more crap in your face. I stopped using it for about 1 week and I started breaking out really bad. I called ProActive and ordered it again and now my face it clearing up alot. If you have severe acne ProActive actually has a higher level of Benzoyle Peroxide which I never new and just found out about. Im getting the shipment in any day now. Good luck and I recommend ProActive to everybody out there.

Hi
Try Acnefree New Redness relief....it has mild sulfur which makes scars disaapear..Toner contains Licorice extract...which absolutely soothes the face..and BP 2.5%....
Its well known that 2.5% BP is most potent than its higher concentrations...
I shifted from normal Acnefree to this new one...and i loved it...
I have adult acne and this helps a lot...No harm to try it....
I use salicylic cloth paRAB 0.5% to wash my face in the morning rather than any soap as i apply BP at night too...Dont forget to moisturize with Olay for sensitive skin or any other suitable moisturiser even if u have acne....
BP can dry the face...but this new Acnefree doesnt....
