What are some pro same-sex marriage points? Like some arguments that are in support of same-sex marriage?

1) Currently it violates all those nice anti-discrimination laws that are in place.
2) Marriage is a secular as well as a religious concepts. (The state recognizes the marriage of a catholic and a baptist, yet the catholic church does not recognize the marriage, the state also recognizes the marriage of atheists while most churches don't recognize the marriage).
3) Marriage is a word that's definition has changed over time and means different thinks to different cultures, it is not the role of government to lock in the definition of a word.

Love is love, no matter gender.
No one has the right to tell you who you can and cannot marry, how would heterosexual people like it if we did that to them?

if you're a law-abiding, tax paying citizen, then you deserve the same privileges as your fellow citizens.

well, ensuring the equality of all american people is always a good thing to do. when you deny the right of marriage to a specific group of people, that's not ensuring equality, is it?

that, among other points....

Equality under the Law
Equal Justice under the Law
All men are created equal.
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
etc.

There is difference between a legal marriage and a religious marriage.

A legal marriage is a legal contract between two people. To achieve this, you must go through the court system, which from my knowledge has nothing to do with a church/religion. Legal marriage plays no part in religion.

The issue I guess is people think gay marriage will force churches to allow gay marriage. No it will not! A church can refuse to marry anyone because they can do what they want. But their wishes should not dictate US policy.

Being gay is no more of a choice than having brown eyes. Both are biological. The bible is a collection of fairy-tales written by men who did not know how the world worked. It is used to control people

Gay individuals just want equal rights under the law. They are not trying to change religious dogma.

You'll NEVER hear a secular reason against gay marriage. Once the government used to word 'marriage', it became secular. Seperation of church and state, people don't get it
