I have just installed my brand new printer. There's one thing that's worrying me. When I plug the figure of 8 cable into the printer, it makes popping sounds (electrical popping sounds, that's how I can describe it). It doesn't make those sounds if I plug the cable into the printer whilst the cable is unplugged from the mains. I've tried a different figure of 8 plug and the printer makes the same popping sound.
