Orlando Bloom has landed the lead role in Disney's new film Prince of Persia. At least it will keep him away from the West End stage.

Will Jake be fit in time? An unfit Jake would probably be more nimble than a fit Orlando but Orlando is the bigger star. Anyway we must protect a West End theatre audience from Orlando's wooden acting.

Why he is chosen for this kind of testosterone role is beyond my comprehension.

The Jake rumour looks the firmest - they denied the Orlando one outright, the Jake one they're being coy about. Although it does depend on when filming is due to start - he's filming Nailed for the next 10 weeks, and does appear to be signed to another project after that
