UPDATE: PrimeSense released the following statement from its CEO, Inon Beracha: "We are focused on building a prosperous company while bringing 3D sensing and Natural Interaction to the mass market in a variety of industries. We can't comment on what any of our partners, customers or potential customers are doing and we’re not commenting on rumors."
Apple may not have tried to buy Waze, but one report suggests the company is going after another Israeli startup.
Calcalist, an Israeli publication, reports that Apple is in talks to acquire PrimeSense, a company that develops 3D sensors, at a valuation between $280 million and $300 million. PrimeSense technology has been used in consumer tech products like the original Kinect from Microsoft.

A rep for PrimeSense denied the report to Mashable and said the company would release a statement later on Tuesday. Apple did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
Calcalist has had a strong track record in recent months of breaking news about Israeli startup acquisitions. The publication correctly reported on Google's purchase of Waze and Samsung's purchase of Boxee.
Although Apple acquisitions are rare, the company is buying companies at a faster pace than in the past. Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, revealed in an interview earlier this year that Apple had acquired nine companies between October and May, an increase from its usual pace of about six acquisitions a year.
