I've been dealing with a pressure wound for a few years now, and had my most recent debridement yesterday. When the doctor was doing it she found another tunnel in the wound that was apparently hidden, so now I have 2 tunnels in the wound. I'm starting to feel completely hopeless. Is it possible that this wound will never heal no matter what? I'm perfectly healthy otherwise.
I'm seeing all kinds of people, mainly an orthopedist though because the wound got infected all the way to the bone. I'm not seeing a dietician, but I was told to eat alot of protein and take vitamin D. The wound was cultured but nothing was found. I'm sort of embarrassed so say where it is but it's on my butt. I'm in a wheelchair and get them alot. I can generally heal them easily but I guess it was alot worse than I thought and there was damage internally that I didn't know about that worked it's way up.
