My lease is not up until the end of Aug. The place I live out now does totally suck, but I can deal with it for the next couple of months. My problem is that my boyfriend hates this place too and is complaining about it a lot. He sees a place that he is interested in moving to, but there is still 5 months left of my current lease. He keeps telling me that leases don’t matter and he wants to move now. Not only do I have 5 months left on my lease, neither of us has the $ for 1st month and security deposit on a new place yet.
How do I get him to chill out and relax about jumping the gun about moving too soon. I told him it would totally put us in debt if we move now because I would be responsible for the remaining 5 months rent, but he seems to think all I need to do is to tell my landlord I'm moving and that will be the end of it.
How do I get him to realize that there is a reason that leases are signed and not to jump thegun too fast? Are there any ways to get out a lease early?
