I currently work in a Machine Shop in my home town, and lately I've been hearing about consistent layoffs and cut backs happening at competing companies.

My co-workers say I should be fearful, and that I should save my money and be prepared in case something happens. I am doing this, and upon hearing that President Obama is going to make it more difficult for small businesses to operate, I'm not only fearful, but certain that something will eventually happen.

President Obama wants to raise taxes on people and small businesses who make over 250K per year, I work in a small, single building machine shop that falls right into the tax hike category. My shop has already cut the overtime and laid one person off.

Additionally, two of my good friends have been laid off from similar manufacturing jobs and my two uncles have been laid off from their manufacturing jobs. The industry I work in is now in jeopardy, and there is no indication that President Obama has offered help.

Isn't it fair to say that President Obama will hurt small business during this current recession, and that the workers in the manufacturing industry are at a higher risk of becoming unemployed?

You can only wait and see, nobody's job is guaranteed, and there are always winners and losers.

Anyway, I hope things work out for you, and you keep your job.

Obama is not the one to blame, it is the criminal bankers and financial "high flyers", and nearly all of those have already ripped us off, and with few exceptions have lined their nests very comfortably, thank you.

im not even gonna blame a president for the uncertainity about my job. im just going to blame greedy americans for destroying the economy
