WHAT'S THE MOVIE? Looked like it was from the 80's to mid 90's. Prepubescent son living with single father. Son discovers that being nice to girls and showing confidence makes them like you. Gets all excited, tells dad. Dad is a nerdy loser, kind of looks like a fusion of the dad from Alf and the dad from Honey I Shrunk the Kids (movie). Son pushes dad to "go for it." They both have their romances with girls they know who they never thought would like them. There are bullies that get in their way. They probably overcome and make it all wonderful in the end with a wedding or something, but I don't think I saw the end. The son's girlfriend is this creepy Jon-Benet-Ramsey-looking princess type. He holds the button on the water fountain for her or something like that. There's a line where he tells his dad about this girl and how guys get excited to scrape the gum off her shoe.
