My friend and I are planning to hike up Longs Peak this year, does anyone have any advise to prepare for the high altitude experience. Any advise on workouts or diets that would physically and mentally prepare us for the high altitudes?
(((Please Note: We do not live anywhere near any mountains.)))
ALSO, any suggestions on good websites regardin high altitude preparations.

Thank You in Advance!!!

Try increasing your lung capacity. Go swim laps every morning, or do sprinting exercises like High Intensity Interval Training.

Really the best thing to do is to hike at slightly higher and higher altitudes, but since that's not an option...

Also, when you do hike it drink a LOT of water before and during, or you'll get altitude sickness. That's a pretty long hike, so good luck
