prepaid sidekick to android?

so i have a sidekick lx and it has the prepaid data plan. i actually ran out of airtime so the sim card is messed up and i still get data for some reason (win). i was wondering, if i were to buy an android phone, would the 3g data work even though im on a sidekick plan or something? it would be totally awesome if it did, just wondering if anyone would know
