Pregnancy Test Question?

I could not wait and took a pregnancy test a week before my period is even due and the negative line in the test window showed up but then th line in the control only half showed up, I know that this is an invalid test but why did it happen?? And since the line showed up in the test window can I still count that as a negative or what??
There is supposed to be a + or - in the test window and then a vertical line in the control window and I got a - line in the test window but then the vertical line only showed up half way in the control window. Just wondering if I can count it as negative, otherwise Im not going to take another test until at least next wednesday.
Oh yeah and I did use my first morning urine also.
How anyone ever experience an invalid test that looked like it would be negative and had a positive test later?
 
i think the line is supposed to show up in the test window. i would reread the directions and if i had any questions i would retake the test. when you are checking that soon the very first morning void is the strongest.
 
take another test, sounds like that one was faulty (controll should show up a full and visibly clear line)
