Preferences ...JR Assist (version error) ?

No this is truly odd .............

Don't ask why but I was playing around with my handheld (Tungsten T3 OS 5.21) and went into preferences. In preferences, I tapped the menu button and it says:

About JR Assist

(then there is the Palm Logo)

JR Assist

v. Error
copyright Error
Palm, Inc. or its subsidaries.

O.K.

Any idea in the world what this is all about?

Cheers,

Syno

If you look on your file manager (Filez/TealMover, I believe you prefer "Filez") - it will list JR Assist.

JR Assist is part of JackFlash, and works with JackSafe (I assume you installed that) to assist in recovering files in flash after a hard reset.

I would ignore it, but you're wise to ask . . . . on mine it was somehow preset to a silk-screen launch button, and hitting that actually soft reset the T3. It will also show up if you have a launcher such as TealLaunch or ScreenButton. It can't be "launched," but shows up anyway.

It's just something "there," that will remain in the background but "shouldn't" be anything to be concerned about if you used the LATEST Sprat/Flash Beta(s). I checked on mine, and got same screen (I just never bothered to check "about" under prefs menu - but interesting find you made!)

I'll post a screenshot I just took, but somehow don't see "attachment" button here so I'll try with a separate posting.
